In this course, I have learned a lot about web tools and how to use them in classroom and professional settings. I went into the course not being very confident with technology, I am now much more comfortable with using web tools and demonstrating my abilities with them.      In this class I was taught how important it is to network. As a Communications major,networking is very important to my future field. In terms of Networking, I was introduced to Linked in and was instructed to make an account.Linked in makes networking very easy.I am happy that I made a Linked In account and was able to experiment with the website and be taught how to use it. I learned how to connect with professionals in my future field and how to network effectively. Good/Bad Website Smackdown

  For my good website I selected Youtube and for my bad website I selected Vimeo. These two websites are designed for one to watch and post videos.When comparing these two websites I was mainly focusing on two things- accessibility and audience. Youtube is free to watch and post videos. The user is also given an unlimited amount of videos they can post for free. Vimeo costs money to post and has different plans with restrictions on how many videos the user can post (according to the plan they selected).  When talking about the audience Vimeo has 70 million active users. Youtube is the second most popular search engine behind Google, ringing in 2.6 billion active users. When choosing vimeo over youtube, you are losing a big chunk of potential viewers. From the perspective of someone who is going into the Public relations and Advertising field, audience is everything.      Chapter 5 of the Connected Educator  tackles the topic of web tools used for expanding knowledge. Sheryl opens the chapter discussing how “knowledge construction comes from experimenting or building something yourself or collectively as a team using tools”. What I loved about this chapter was the idea that “you don't need to be a web expert to take advantage of these tools”. Many of the web tools that are offered are easy to use, don't let a new web tool stress you out. A web tools job is to make your job easier!      As someone who plans on working in the Public Relations and Advertising field, I see webtools being a major factor in my future occupation. The features that instagram has to offer that I mentioned in my presentation are instagram direct messages, instagram reels, and instagram stories. Instagram also offers the feature to make an account an business account that allows you to have your email directly linked in your bio which people can contact you. I have been a huge fan of watching youtube videos since I was a little girl, I even would make my own as a kid. This app has gotten more popular over the years and has left a huge impact on society. Youtube has also become a job as well, with people receiving actual income from posting content on the app. Did you know youtube is the second most popular website behind google?  Youtube's features such as recommended videos allow the app to feel more personalized and as if it's showing you what YOU wanna see, not just filled with content you aren't interested in. Another example of features I showed in my presentation was the watch later playlist, a helpful feature when you stumble across a video and can't watch it at that very moment- add it to your watch later playlist to watch later on.  Youtube will help me as someone going into the PR and advertising field because
